DirecType, one of the world’s leading providers of image personalization software, will be using its appearance at Print 09 (September 11–16 in Chicago, booth 6446) to present DirecType Crossmedia – a new high-end integration solution which delivers image personalization for print and online applications and web-to-print projects. This new product is an image personalization solution for mailings, personalized calendars and web applications, e.g. e-mailings, e-cards and calendar-ordering tools. The live, web-based creation of personalized images and high-volume, automated generation of images for digital printing go hand in hand. The modular structure of Crossmedia ensures optimum usage of existing re-sources and integration of automatized image pro-duction into existing production workflows.

No click charges • Over 170 free motifs

With the Print and Online versions of its software, DirecType will be presenting products specially designed to meet the requirements of digital printers and online agencies. The two versions facilitate the creation of personalized images for digital printing and the live generation of images for web applications respectively. DirecType Crossmedia will be available at $13,999, whilst the Print and Online versions will be on sale for $11,999 each. DirecType Suite – an entry-level solution for small- and medium-volume mailings – will also be available at a price of $499.

These software prices are “all-inclusive” – there are no follow-up costs or click charges. Users also have access to over 170 free motifs. DirecType is available for Windows, Intel Mac and Linux, and facilitates cross-platform work processes. What is more, this stand-alone software is compatible with all VDP solutions.

Photowriter teaches photos to talk

Dresden (25th of November 2008). Photowriter is a program which allows photo-realistic image fonts with variable texts to be integrated into images. This enables users to teach their own photos to talk — whether using words in the sand or a cloud text in the sky. Users can therefore make their images more personal and leave a lasting impression — for instance when creating party invitations or "thank you" notes. Photowriter features a modern, intuitive user interface and is available for free download at www.photowriter.org.

The full version (available for just €10) features even more font types and allows images to be saved either in a format optimized for email and internet or in print quality. A "Junior" version in a playful look designed for younger users is also available. Users who wish to have complete control over motif and font creation can opt for the Photowriter "Pro" version, which opens up a world of photo-realistic image font possibilities.

Dresden (13 October 2008). DirecType Suite is the new complete solution for image personalization at a price of €399

With it, users personalize and produce images simply, quickly and economically — no follow-up costs per image, no expensive flat-rate, no restrictions. This opens up the possibility also for small digital printers, copy shops and advertising agencies to offer their customers image-personalized direct marketing products, e.g. mailings. The software can be purchased and downloaded at the website directype.org.

In addition, all users have access to the gratis data base with more than 150 finished motifs. "With DirecType Suite, we are presenting a complete solution for a new and much greater target group", says Christoph Deutsch, the managing director of Deutsch Technologies GmbH. "Up to now, the software solutions offered on the market were very expensive and only affordable for the few. Those times are now over! Now, also smaller providers can offer their customers the full program concerning direct marketing and image personalization.

As the only image personalization software worldwide, DirecType Suite can be used on small platforms — whether MAC OS, Windows or Linux — and is, at the same time, compatible with all VDP solutions. DirecType 2.12: In the fast lane of personalised direct marketing

Deutsch Technologies is today unveiling an updated version of its image personalisation software, DirecType. The new release speeds up the production of personalised print work with an improved method of text analysis and its new slice setting, which is used to save just the variable section of the image. Version 2.12 now enables template images to be edited within DirecType itself. A new relief function has also been added to the font effects, complementing the existing contour, shadow and shimmer.

"In releasing the new version, we’re providing our customers with a further improved software package that combines individual image personalisation with great productivity", says Christoph Deutsch, CEO of Deutsch Technologies. Using DirecType, any image can be personalised and made ready for digital printing. The software thus opens up countless opportunities for targeted, fully personalised, one-to-one marketing. The intuitive user interface makes the extensive creative options easy to use.
